EC President Ursula von der Leyen has stressed that the duration of the negotiations hinges on advancements in reforms

The initiation of negotiations for Ukraine’s accession to the European Union marks a truly momentous occasion. DEJURE Foundation expresses gratitude to all those who dedicated their efforts to yesterday’s outcome, extending thanks to millions of Ukrainians and the Armed Forces of Ukraine for their role.

Earlier, President Ursula von der Leyen of the European Commission highlighted significant progress in areas such as constitutional justice, the reform of the selection process for the High Council of Justice, the anti-corruption program, the battle against money laundering, crucial measures to restrain oligarchs, as well as the new media law and advancements in addressing national minorities’ issues. However, it is essential to bear in mind various recommendations and requirements set forth by the European Commission.
