The Sixth Administrative Court of Appeal refused to reinstate Bohdan Lvov as a judge of the Supreme Court

Today, on June 12th, the Sixth Administrative Court of Appeal rejected Bohdan Lvov’s reinstatement to the Supreme Court staff. The panel of judges, chaired by Andriy Kuchma, confirmed the legality of Lvov’s dismissal based on an SBU letter indicating the judge’s Russian citizenship and ruled in favour of Ukraine, not Russia.

We welcome this decision as it sets an important precedent that can be applied in similar cases. However, the victory is not final—Bohdan Lvov may still file a cassation appeal and has already approached the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) regarding this matter.
