This is an executive summary of the study, written in Ukrainian.

By joining the Bologna Convention, Ukraine committed to implementing the common requirements, criteria, and standards of higher education for European countries and integrating into a unified European Education Area. Subsequently, the principle

of international integration and the integration of Ukraine’s higher education system into
 the European Higher Education Area as one of the defining principles was enshrined
in Article 3 of the Law of Ukraine “On Higher Education”. This principle not only envisages the formation of a unified educational and research area with the countries of the European Union (EU) but also aims to ensure the mobility of staff, as stipulated in the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU.

The Council of Europe Action Plan for Ukraine “Resilience, Recovery, Rebuilding 2023-2026” includes incorporating European integration disciplines into legal studies programs at higher education institutions. The education standard for the first (bachelor’s) level in speciality 081 Law, approved by the Ministry of Education and Science Order

No. 644 dated July 20, 2022, stipulates that graduates should know and understand the basics of the EU law. Several higher education institutions have already included relevant courses in their programs. Lawyers’ professionalism and ability to work effectively
in the European legal field depend on the content and quality of these courses.
